Disciplines and categories

FBBFK is a member of the IFBB, and its competitions are held under IFBB rules. The Federation’s sport rules (2023) mainly describe the mandatory poses that competitors present to the judges. Below are the disciplines the Federation runs or plans in its calendar.

Bodybuilding

The classic discipline of the sport. Judges assess muscle size, symmetry, proportion and definition. Competitors present a series of mandatory poses in a set order:

From the front

  1. Hands on waist, wide back from the front (Front Lat Spread)
  2. Double biceps from the front (Front Double Biceps)
  3. Side chest, biceps position (Side Chest)
  4. Side chest, triceps position (Side Triceps)

From the back

  1. Hands on waist, wide back from behind (Back Lat Spread)
  2. Double biceps from behind (Back Double Biceps)

From the front again

  1. Abdominals and thighs (Abdominal & Thigh)
  2. The “crab” pose (Most Muscular / Crab)

Finally, competitors perform free posing as a group (Pose Down), each showing the strong points of their physique.

Men’s Physique

A category for men with an athletic physique, less massive than in bodybuilding. Judges assess overall shape, proportion, condition and stage presentation.

Bikini Fitness

A category for women in which overall body shape, muscle tone, proportion and presentation are assessed.

Bodyfitness

A category for women with more pronounced musculature than in Bikini Fitness, but without the mass of bodybuilding.

How Men’s Physique, Bikini Fitness and Bodyfitness are presented

These categories have no muscular poses as in bodybuilding. Competitors present themselves in a series of quarter turns:

  • standing facing the front,
  • quarter turn to one side,
  • quarter turn to face the back,
  • quarter turn to the other side,
  • quarter turn to face the front again.

The order of the turns follows the current IFBB rules.

Fitness Challenge

A discipline that appears regularly in the Federation’s calendar, with a Kosovo Cup and a Kosovo Championship, as well as summer training camps.

Strength discipline

This discipline also has a Kosovo Cup and a Kosovo Championship in the calendar.

Age groups

The Federation’s documents mention competition for seniors, juniors and age groups, as well as cadet, junior and senior categories at international competitions. The IFBB age limits apply.
